Day 1: Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento
At 6:45am, a coach bus will depart Rome, and via the “sun route” motorway, you will travel through the regions of Lazio and Campania, seeing picturesque views of the abbey of Montecassino along the way. There will be a short panoramic city tour upon arriving in Naples, where you will see the Mergellina neighborhood, Castel dell’Ovo, Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, Maschio Angioino, and the port.
After stopping at a cameo and coral factory, you will make your way to Pompeii, visiting the ruins of the famous roman city, destroyed by the eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, you will continue on to Sorrento, where you will check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner before resting up for the adventures ahead.
Day 2: Sorrento
Spend a leisurely day exploring Sorrento, the jewel of the Sorrentine Peninsula that is famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemon, and olive trees. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Sorrento, Capri
At 8:30am, board a boat for the island of Capri after breakfast. After a short panoramic tour of the island, you may opt to enter the famous blue grotta in a small rowboat (weather and sea conditions permitting). Check in to your new hotel for some well-deserved rest.
Day 4: Capri
Set out early to discover the beauty of Capri at your own pace. Explore the many shops and restaurants of this wonderful island or take a swim in the gulf of Naples. If the excursion to the blue grotta didn’t pan out the day before, you may choose to take the row boat excursion today. Return to your hotel for your last evening in Capri.
Day 5: Capri, Rome
Spend a leisurely morning eating breakfast at your hotel and doing some last minute sight-seeing in Capri. Between 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon, depart for Naples and go on to Rome, where the tour will come to an end. (Estimated arrival)
